Objectives-
- Maintain Restored Equipment State:
- Ensure that the improvements achieved through Steps 0-4 are sustained.
- Document the results of the reduction in failures or downtime achieved through these steps.
- Sustain and Enhance Reliability, Maintainability, and Quality Levels:
- Continuously monitor and improve the reliability, maintainability, and quality of equipment.
- Identify areas where further enhancements can be made and implement necessary changes.
- Review and Develop Provisional Standards:
- Review the provisional standards established for cleaning, checking, and lubricating processes.
- Work on refining these standards to make them more efficient and comprehensive.
- Develop Definitive Jishu-Hozen (AM) Standards:
- Transform provisional cleaning, lubrication, and checking standards into definitive Jishu-Hozen (Autonomous Maintenance) standards.
- Ensure that these standards are well-documented and easily accessible to relevant personnel.
- Improve Efficiency of Autonomous Checking Tasks:
- Identify ways to enhance the efficiency of autonomous checking tasks.
- Implement comprehensive visual control and error-proofing mechanisms to ensure adherence to Jishu-Hozen standards.
- This may involve utilizing visual aids, checklists, or technological solutions to streamline the checking process and minimize errors.
AM Step 5 Process:
- Review Residual Issues from Steps 1-4:
-
- Identify Problems:
- Review cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting standards set in Step 3 and categorical inspecting standards set in Step 4.
- Identify any issues or shortcomings.
- Remedial Actions:
- Plan remedial actions to address identified problems.
- Implement remedial actions.
- Evaluate the results of implemented actions.
- Breakdowns & Minor Stoppages:
- Examine causes of breakdowns and minor stoppages.
- Plan remedial actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Implement remedial actions.
- Evaluate the results of implemented actions.
- Inspection:
- Set Tentative Inspection Standards.
- Compare with maintenance standards set by the maintenance team.
- Set inspecting time targets.
- Set tentative routine inspection schedules.
- Conduct routine inspection.
- Identify Problems:
-
- Review Cleaning, Lubricating & Inspecting Standards:
-
-
- Conduct a comprehensive review of cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting standards to ensure they are efficient and comprehensive.
-
- Set Definitive AM Standards & Schedule:
-
-
- Based on the review, establish definitive Autonomous Maintenance (AM) standards and schedules for cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting tasks.
-
- Develop Short Remedial Program:
-
-
- Develop a short-term program to address any immediate issues or deficiencies identified during the review process.
-
- Conduct AM Audit:
-
-
- Conduct an audit of the entire Autonomous Maintenance process to ensure compliance with established standards and identify areas for further improvement.
